Devon’s Beat was created in honor of Devon Parrott after his diagnosis with Long QT syndrome. What started as one family’s effort to raise awareness has grown into a community tradition that helps fund preventative heart screenings for young people across Missouri.

One diagnosis changed Devon’s life. His family chose to help change lives in return.
Devon was only 10 years old when he collapsed at school in 2012. A few days later, he was diagnosed with Long QT syndrome, a sudden arrhythmic death syndrome condition that placed him at high risk of cardiac arrest.
Angela and the Parrott family turned that terrifying moment into action. With help from friends, family, and their rural Missouri community, they started Devon’s Beat to raise awareness and help families access life-saving heart screenings.
